We need a theme.

Hello All,

Well I guess I'll put in some time into making a website and bringing a theme back to this place.

But to be honest I need some ideas.

I mean we could go back to an anime theme as before or we could go down another road.

Please let me know what you think and why you think that.

Once we have some ideas we can put them all to a vote and see what everyone recommends.

I'm a big fan of Pizza.

If not Pizza, I also like Lasagna and Spaghetti.

Actually, a general italian food theme would be perfect.

Or how about Pseudo-Philosophical Debate?

Just look at all that * insight I'm spewing! I'm like a rocketship on my way to Mars on a collision course. I am a satellite, I'm out of control. Don't stop me now! I don't wanna stop at all.

Why can't the theme be nostalgia? Isn't that what brought us back here? We were all 10 years (on average) younger (or dumber) than we were, now we are back. It is sort of like the 10 year high school reunion....minus the awkward we-*-after-junior-prom-and-never-spoke-afterwards awkwardness. :/

I don't have any issues with being a nostalgia thing, But it seems that many of us have lost contact with a lot of the people that were around here.

I am hoping that word gets out that we are back but to be blunt I don't have any of the old backups from the old site anymore due to a massive power surge that corrupted over 5TB of backup storage that I had.

But I am hoping that we can really get more people back around here.

I am also thinking about changing the main layout of the site this one is nice but the overall appeal is less then I thought it would be.

But I am still working on things on the backend of the site.

Though nostalgia is what brought us back here, it's not exactly making regular visitors out of anybody. And when talking about the old days gets old, there too goes our reason to come back.

It seems that anime was what initially brought us here, and alot of people are still into it to the extent of being artists in a similar style. So why not stick with that? It's probably one of the few common interests we all still have. Maybe we could get people to submit reviews of their favorite movies/series to help people like me who aren't as familiar with what's out there get an idea of what to check out. I don't know, but from MY perspective that's the theme that would most benefit/help ME.

HAY LOOK FF I'M GETTING MAH EGO BAX!!!

I don't really care for anime anymore. I just like the art.

We could go entertainment themed. as there is always some type of entertainment that people like.

Music, tv, comics ect.

or is that to broad?

I think it'd be too broad. There's gotta be something that is general to a particular group of people or geographical area, but not completely exclusive so as to drive people away.

For example. www.albertametal.net/forum is a website dedicated to posting news about upcoming metal and hard rock shows in the province of Alberta, Canada. It includes but is not limited to all sorts of metal discussion for genres and sub-genres, concerts, movies, culture, literature, and even regular discussions not pertaining to metal music.

We could figure out a basic topic of interest (such as anime) but then focus in on other things as well. As I recall, the forum was based on anime and DBZ before, and many of the new members came because of that. However, many stayed because they were able to learn about other anime they might like, or just have a great conversation with a bunch of people.

I would suggest either making it an art-related or music-related message board. These are both such broad topics that we can have several theme-focused areas of the board while still maintaining what we have now and continuing to expand. Anime is broad enough as well, but it's hard to say whether or not an anime-themed forum will be self-sustaining in this day and age.
