Hello All,
If anyone remember the old forums and the url being something like this.
http://forumlegacy.com/phpbb/faq.php
It will now take you to the new forums ( the ones we are on now ).
Just encase someone is trying to find us the old way.
I know its a absolute rare thing that could happen but if I can do something as small as a single file that might help us out, then why not just have it there.
As well things like http://web.archive.org/ can locate the new system.
Who know it might help.
Regards,
The009

Well considering I tried to find the old forum that way a couple of months ago, it might help.

Could probably stand to do a mod rewrite of /forum to /forums instead of displaying a link you have to click. I understand that you probably don't want to do that on the root if you're setting up a proper site though.

Re: Enabled A Redriect for the old ( Years OLD ) Forum URL
the forums were never located at /forum or /forums they were in the root dir to start with.
But because I am doing an actual site I moved them into a sub folder and turned them into a sub-domain.
The link that is currently there will be gone from http://www.forumlegacy.com and just incorporated into the menu. It is only there as a reminder that the forum url has changed.

Hm, okay. For some reason I thought there were subdirs because forum.forumlegacy.com also displays the moving notice, but apparently all invalid subdirs do, so okay.

Correct I enable dynamic sub-domains on all my domains.
Keeps the 404 error log much smaller.
It also drives more traffic in the end
